Armageddon Dildos Release “Herbstzeitlose” EP Ahead of New Album
German EBM veterans Armageddon Dildos have unveiled a new MCD, Herbstzeitlose, while working on their long-awaited next studio album. The 11-track release features four brand-new songs alongside seven remixes, offering fans something fresh as they await the band’s first full-length album since 2011’s Untergrund.
The EP was initiated by Uwe Kanka during the recording sessions for the upcoming album, providing an opportunity to present new material without keeping listeners waiting until the full record is completed.
The remix lineup brings together an impressive selection of artists from the industrial and EBM underground. German cult acts PNE and The Psychic Force are joined by Tolchock, Hell, Venal Flesh, Kant Kino and Technoir, each contributing their own interpretation of the material. And while we’re at it, it would certainly be good to hear something new from Steffen Gehring and Technoir soon!
Two tracks from Herbstzeitlose are already available for streaming, offering a first taste of the release. With four new compositions and seven reworked versions, the EP should appeal to longtime followers of the band as well as fans of the wider EBM and industrial scene.
Armageddon Dildos were formed in 1988 in Kassel, Germany, by Uwe Kanka and Dirk Krause. The duo made their recording debut in 1990 on the legendary Zoth Ommog label with the single Never Mind / Pressure, followed by East West. In 1991, they released their first full-length album, That’s Armageddon, establishing themselves as a distinctive force within the emerging EBM scene.
Over the decades, the band have earned a devoted following, even as their release schedule has slowed. Since 2011, Armageddon Dildos have been signed to Belgian industrial label Alfa Matrix, continuing their journey through the darker territories of electronic music.
With Herbstzeitlose, Armageddon Dildos offer a welcome update from the studio and a promising appetizer for the forthcoming album. Eleven tracks, a solid roster of remixers and four new songs make this MCD a worthwhile addition to any EBM collection. Warmly recommended!
