The greatest distance does not arise between cities. It appears between the person you once were and the person you have become. You have the same names, the same memories, you recognize each other in photographs, but from now on you feel everything differently: love, loss, the future, and yourselves. Sometimes music allows these two people to meet. Perhaps it is on this very evening that you will remember that same version of yourself whom you have missed so much.

The band Один в каное was formed in 2010 in Lviv.

On November 27 of the same year, the band gave its first solo performance, where the musicians presented their first songs.

Since then, the band has performed solo concerts in most of the major cities of Ukraine, as well as in Prague, Paris, Cambridge, Minsk, Moscow, and Gdańsk, and has taken part in numerous festivals.

The number of members changed several times, eventually leaving two members from the original lineup: Ira Shvaydak (vocals) and Ustym Pokhmurskyi (guitar). Later, they invited percussionist Olena Davydenko to join them. The band remained in this lineup for six years, releasing their self-titled debut album, “Один в каное”, in 2016. The album included 25 tracks, the result of five years of searching for eternal meanings, with a motto that remains relevant to this day: “Strength lies in simplicity.”

The current lineup consists of vocalist Iryna Shvaydak, guitarist Ustym Pokhmurskyi, and session drummer Ihor Dzikovskyi.

The band is currently actively working on a new full-length album.
